Japan high on investing in Turkey

Turkey’s Minister of Economy, Jafer Caglayan has confirmed that more Japanese companies are looking towards Turkey as an investment opportunity.

Speaking during a visit to Japan, Caglayan said: “Insurance company Dai-ichi expressed interest in investing in Turkey via a partnership and is looking for local partners. Japanese companies see Turkey as a production and management centre for the region and beyond. We have observed a keen interest on the Japanese side for business cooperation. This can cover joint projects in third countries as well.”

Turkey and Japan currently enjoy a healthy trade relationship with more than 140 Japanese companies currently having active investments in Turkey including car giants Toyota and Honda and even Japanese Banks – Caglayan expected that number to rise dramatically in the next few years due to Turkey’s recent new investment incentive for foreign companies looking to invest in Turkey.
