Turkey to improve transport links

Turkey could be looking to improve transport links in Turkey after studies on were completed on a potential 18 new highways connecting Turkey’s Black Sea coast to the Mediterranean coast.

The new highways total 11,797 kilometres in length and will easy traffic in Turkey problems and also help with trade and tourism in Turkey. Turkey’s Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim said that 10,679 kilometres of the new highways will be double lane, the rest being single lane highways.

Yildirim said that construction had already been completed on more than 7,000 kilometres of the highways.

The new highways in Turkey will surely easy some of the traffic problems in Turkey and create new transport links for tourists and expats in Turkey to use on a daily basis. With more transport on the road in Turkey every day, the need for better transport links had been there for a while – also symbolising the recent growth of Turkey as a power nation and one of the fastest growing in the world.
