Erdogan voted most popular person AND least popular person in Time Magazine poll

Readers of the influential Time Magazine have voted Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as the People’s Choice for Time’s 2011 Person of the Year and ironically also voted him top of the least popular people list.

A statement in the magazine said: “The Turkish Prime Minister was the most popular, and the least popular in our annual online poll.” Statistics from the magazine show that Erdogan received 122,928 votes to become the most influential person of the year while also receiving 180,564 votes to become the least popular person of the year.

Erdogan had been featured on the front cover of Time Magazine last month in an article titled: ‘Erdogan’s Way’ that shows the progress that Turkey had made under Erdogan to become a power nation in the region including his rock star like heroic welcome during a recent trip to Egypt, and how Turkey can become an example for other countries.
