Turkey and the UK to sign military agreement

Turkey President Abdullah Gul has said that Turkey and the United Kingdom are set to sign a military agreement to increase cooperation between Turkey and the UK.

Speaking during a visit to the UK, Gul said: “The agreement on training in military, technical and scientific cooperation, along with a memorandum for cooperation in the defence industry will contribute to strengthening our cooperation with the UK.”

Gul went on: “Our relations with the UK, our ally and strategic partner, are enjoying a golden age. Therefore, I will pay a historic visit to the UK, a country whose visible support for our negotiation process with the EU and our overlapping vision on international issues give weight to our relations.”

The UK and Turkey share a good relationship with many British companies investing and cooperating with Turkey. The military agreement between Turkey and the UK will allow for more security and safety measures to be introduced to both nations.
