Turkish Foreign Ministry set to open up local offices

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has announced plans to open local domestic communication offices all around Turkey.

Currently there are only two offices in Turkey, one in Istanbul and another in Izmir. Current plans calls for three new offices to be opened in the southern province of Antalya, the Thracian province of Edirne, and another province yet to be named.

The reason for new local offices is to see the bureaus promote the provinces to international businesses worldwide and to prepare projects that will contribute to foreign trade in the areas. Aims are to help the provinces bring in foreign funds and capitalise on these funds. Turkey is becoming a hot spot for foreign trade as more and more businesses look to invest in the Turkey market and gain from the profits to be had in Turkey.

Other aims for these new local offices will be to advice the local administrations on the best ways to handle foreign affairs issues and to help local administrations in their relations with foreign administrations.
