Turkey and France united against terrorism

Turkey and France have come to terms on an agreement that will see the two nations unite and establish joint operations to fight against terrorism, crime, and drug smuggling.

French Interior Minister Claude Gueant said: “The agreement has both technical and operational dimensions. We will indentify threats common to both countries. And we will move against them together. That would surely require joint operations as well.” Gueant was speaking after meeting with Turkish EU Minister Egemen Bagis and Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay.

The agreement with France will see both countries focus on strengthening cooperation on fighting against terrorism and crime in both nations.

Gueant said that France would also help to boost the crackdown on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) activity in France. It is known that the PKK has a great presence in France where financial resources are sent to fund the organisations terrorist activity. The new agreement between Turkey and France could be the start of fighting more against the PKK activity in Turkey.
