Turkish police to strengthen security with light helicopters

Turkey’s Police Department have announced plans to purchase 15 light helicopters to help the police strengthen security and provide the police with easier transport.

A procurement official said of the new announcement: “The new light helicopters will greatly boost the Police Department’s capabilities in all fields of police operations.”

The helicopters are expected to cost tens of millions of dollars to produce, and three companies from Italy, Germany, and the United States are to bid for the contract to build the helicopters. The new light helicopters will provide the police force with much better mobility and transport in tracking criminals and fighting against crime in Turkey.

The new light helicopters are part of a plan by Turkey to strengthen security in Turkey as a whole. Turkey has plans next year to launch a new program to develop and produce a new military and civilian helicopter that will likely cost into the billions and provide a huge boost to security in Turkey.
