Climate change exhibit comes to Turkey

A nature exhibit titled: “Climate Change” will go on display at Santralistanbul in October to provide information on climate change throughout the world.

The exhibition, which originally opened in New York in 2009, has been visited by nearly a quarter of a million people and Istanbul will have a chance to showcase the exhibit to more people in hopes of raising more awareness about the subject of climate change. The exhibit will run from October 4th 2011 to January 15th 2012.

The exhibit features numerous interactive stations and videos, as well as dioramas transmitting the latest scientific concepts and research available. Key to the exhibit is evidence that shows that human activity over the last three hundred years has drastically changed the natural world through burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and other changes. The exhibit warns that greenhouse  gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is ever increasing and the Earth’s climate is changing and actions need to be taken before it is deemed too late.

“Climate Change” will focus on the changes in global warming that could occur following these actions. This could cause seal levels to rise and temperatures to change and increase devastation such as droughts in areas and storms in other areas.

So if you are in Turkey during the time of the exhibit, make sure you go to see it and be amazed at the effect that climate change is having on the Earth.
