European Commission to film Ramadan in Turkey

All eyes will be on Turkey during Ramadan as the European Commission will be filming from August 10-13 for the production of a promotional film.

The film, which will be covering the 2011 European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) will show tourist attractions in Altindags district Hamamonu neighbourhood in Ankara.

The purpose of the film is to capture the architectural beauty and cultural heritage of Turkey through the festivities of Ramadan. The film will be a celebration of the culture of Turkey during the fasting period of Ramadan.

The film is due to be screened at the 2011 EDEN awards on September 27, held in Brussels for the European Tourism Day. Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has been taking part in the EDEN project since 2008, to promote economic development through tourism.

Tourism in Turkey is currently on the up, Turkey has been experiencing a lot of growth and people are flocking to Turkey to witness the beautiful colourful offerings that Turkey has in abundance.
