Kobe Bryant could be headed to Turkey

The Head of Basketball Operations at Besiktas has stated that there is a 50% chance that NBA legend Kobe Bryant will be playing in Turkey.

Besiktas recently signed fellow NBA star Deron Williams and have made no secret of their desire to lure Bryant to Turkey. Seref Yalcin – Head of Basketball Operations at Besiktas is quoted as saying: “At the moment there’s a 50% chance that Kobe may come to Turkey. Everything will be clearer after the meeting on the 30th. We have not talked about money, as reported. We only talked about the possibility of Kobe playing in Turkey. We asked FIBA for approval and Kobe wants some time to think about it. We believe that his response is going to be positive. Money will not be a problem, Turkish Airlines, M-Oil and Milan Petrol will sponsor the deal.”

The NBA lockout has caused mayhem for the American Basketball market, with several top talents considering their futures and weighing up the possibility of playing in Turkey.

Should Kobe Bryant end playing in Turkey, it will surely be a huge coup for Turkey and provide a refreshing boost to basketball in Turkey and could lead to more NBA stars heading to Turkey.
