More NBA stars to head to Turkey

Thanks to the ongoing American NBA lockout, it looks like more NBA stars will be plying their trade in the Turkish league.

New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams became the first major NBA player to take up this option as he takes his talents to Istanbul. Williams has agreed to join Turkish team Besiktas in the event of a lengthy lockout.

Now, former Lakers shooting guard Sasha Vujacic, who will be a free agent at the end of the 2011 season is rumoured to have  signed a deal to play in Turkey.

NBA Commissioner David Stern won’t fight players moving to Europe during the lockout. He said players are free to do what they want, as was the case with the league’s last work stoppage in 1999.

It looks like America’s lose is Turkey’s gain.
