Kobe Bryant in Turkey to discuss move to Besiktas
NBA basketball ball legend Kobe Bryant is currently in Turkey as he ponders over a move to play basketball for Besiktas.
After attending a ceremony to open two new basketball courts in Istanbul, Bryant who has previously said that playing outside of the NBA could be exciting, stated his admiration for Turkish basketball and when asked about his protracted move to Besiktas, Bryant said that he was still thinking about the offer, providing hope for all Besiktas fans.
Bryant was in Turkey alongside Istanbul Deputy Mayor Goksel Gumusdag. The new facilities in the Caddebostan neighbourhood of Istanbul will provide important training for new and future basketball players.
Kobe Bryant is one of the most successful and most sought after NBA players of all time. Bryant currently has five NBA titles to his name and is a 13-time NBA All Star, all with the famous LA Lakers.
Should Bryant end up playing in Turkey he will follow the steps of fellow NBA players such as Hidayet Turkoglu and Mehmet Okur who have recently signed with Turkish basketball teams while the NBA lockout continues to cause chaos for basketball in the United States.
