Countdown to the Istanbul Jazz Festival begins
The 18th Istanbul Jazz Festival kicks off this Friday and continues through to the July 19. Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts and sponsored by Garanti Bank, the festival will feature 40 concerts and more than 300 local and foreign artists.
Also, the second Tünel Feast will be the first weekend of the jazz festival with a program even more comprehensive than last year’s schedule. The “festival within the festival” begins Saturday and will continue until late hours with concerts, workshops, special exhibitions, treats and events in the streets throughout Beyoğlu, Şişhane, Galata and Asmalımescit, alongside the main stages at Tünel and Galata squares.
Stars attending include Lauryn Hill, Tracy Chapman, Joss Stone, Aretha Franklin among others. It will be the best summer music festival in the region this year and should not be missed.
